Longaniza por metro
Most places sell sausage by weight. In San José de Gracia, longaniza is a local specialty sold by length.
A local specialty
Longaniza here comes in two versions, spicy and mild, and it is sold by the meter. The butcher measures it instead of weighing it, which surprises most visitors. It is a specialty of the town.
Where to buy it
Cremería Macías, at Ramón Corona 325, sells it by the meter. Ask for spicy or mild and tell them how many meters you want.
Part of the Altos table
Los Altos de Jalisco has a ranch table built on pork, cheese and cream, and longaniza belongs to it. If you are in town on a Sunday, the tianguis in the centro is also worth a visit for the local cheeses, handmade tortillas and antojitos. More on where to eat.
